Meet Haley
Haley Indorato is an artist obsessed with oil painting. She is inspired by the history and legacy of painting as well as everyday life. Her work is often concerned with truth and reality, historical and contemporary depictions of power and desire especially as it relates to women's bodies, as well as the mundane beauty of everyday life. To her, the constructed nature of a painting and symbolism of objects combined with expressive mark making can get at more truth about being human than any other medium.
Haley Indorato was born and raised in Rochester, NY. She received her BFA in Studio Art from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2022. She has exhibited work across New York state in Rochester, Buffalo, Auburn and New York City. She's held solo exhibitions at The Schweinfurth Art Center and Cayuga Museum of History and Art in Auburn, NY and at The Genesee Valley Council of the Arts in Mt. Morris, NY. She has been selected for competitive juried exhibitions as well including Made in NY at the Schweinfurth Art Center, and the competitive 68th and 69th Finger Lakes Show at the Memorial Art Gallery. In Rochester, she participated in many grassroots arts groups (Rochester Artist Collaborative, The Yards, Railroad Street Artworks), teaching and exhibiting in local galleries. .
She is entering her second year of the MFA program at University of Georgia where she teaches Drawing 1 and Intro Painting Classes. She has started to exhibit around Georgia in places like Augusta and Athens where she recently won a juror award at the gallery, ATHICA and participated in the regional juried exhibition at the Lyndon House. She will be presenting her work at SECAC in October, and has another solo show planned at the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania-Mansfield from October 25th-November 19th. Large Scale Portraits
Life size or larger portraits of individuals and groups are one of Haley's specialties and favorites to paint. Participate in the legacy of painting with your own unique portrait.
Small Landscapes and Still Lives
There is beauty to be appreciated on the small scale as well. Places and objects can often tell us more about someone than just a portrait can.
Other Offers
I have experience with other forms of painting as well. Things like fan art, card alters, live wedding paintings, murals, etc.
